Mr Rajiv Varma is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital where he has consulted since 1990. He specialises in complex benign pelvic surgery; urogynaecology; pelvic floor surgery; colposcopy (examination of cervix and vagina); chronic pelvic pain; benign gynaecology; ribroids; endometriosis and laparoscopic surgery.

Mr Varma has a broad skill base and can deal with common gynaecological complaints along with routine check-ups. Mr Varma carries out the latest procedures, including anterior and posterior repairs and infracoccygeal sacropexy as day cases.

In the past hysterectomy was inevitable for uterine prolapse and menorrhagia, but increasingly Mr Varma is able to preserve the uterus. Along with the latest procedures for menorrhagia and dysmenorrhoea he offers a colposcopy service.

Mr Varma initially trained as a gynaecological oncologist and has a specialist interest and depth of experience in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery.
