Mr De Kiewiet obtained his medical degree at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, in 1982, and he then gained his Fellowship in Surgery/Orthopaedics from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
Mr De Kiewiet then completed:
- Paediatric orthopaedic speciality training in the Women’s and Children’s Hospitals, Adelaide, and Oskar-Helene-Heim
- Trauma surgery at the Royal Adelaide Trauma Unit
- Limb reconstruction at The Borgo Roma Hospital, Verona, The Kurgan Institute, Russia, and The International Centre for limb lengthening in Baltimore
- Hip reconstruction surgery at Inselspital, Bern, Switzerland.
Mr De Kiewiet specialises in general orthopaedic surgery, with interests in limb reconstruction, joint preservation, paediatric orthopaedics, hip joint reconstruction and foot & ankle surgery.
